My new bike, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R This is my second bike.
Got it a few days ago and got my new riding gear yesterday. I got SP2 Alpinestars gloves, Berik jacket, white Alpinestars boots, Shark helmet and Sartso Killer jeans.
I have a Yoshimura SS slip on exhaust and an R&G Fender Eliminator/Tail Tidy installed.
I took it for a good fast ride up the Old Pacific Highway here in Australia [link][link] (best rider territory in Sydney) yesterday. Was so fun, I think those are my plans for the next million weekends! : D
would you be able to help a newbie out? I wanna get either a 125 or a 250cc but with a 250cc I fear that it may be too much for me because I am 5 ft 9 and only weight 75kg but I commute on roads that go 100km/h and my old 50cc scooter just doesnt cut it...
Trust me, a 250 wold be perfect I'm actually about your height and weight too and it was perfect for me. I suggest you go and sit on a few in bike shops and see how you feel. 250s are powerful, but not powerful enough to throe you like 600 or 1000 would as a newbie. If you find you can touch the ground with both feet (doesn't have to be flat on the floor) on a 250 you wilp be fine on it
Getting mine today! Cept its red. You really got the line of the bike straight, almost makes it look like it got cropped at the middle. Gorgeous bike though
Yeah I am pretty excited, except I am not good at downshifting I have discovered, and I have killed it more than once when coming to a complete stop and trying to get going again I got pretty comfortable pretty fast though, was able to drive it to work today after my 1 day of practice.
I meant it looks cropped because the bike has such a straight line across it and you have it perfectly level so it almost looks like the top of the bike was dragged down over the bottom. I know it wasn't, but at first glace it kind of looks that way
Awesome! Good for you ^^ You will get better :3 Ohh I see XD I actually took the photo on a sloped driveway, and if I can remember correctly I rotated it a bit
I am enjoying it quite thoroughly so far. However you took the pic, you sure did get that line straight My only issue is the bike seems like it starts running pretty rough towards <10mph in first. I do not know if this is normal, or I need to engage the clutch at this point, or if I may have an issue with my bikes first gear...
Awesome Have you ever driven a manual car? If so you will know that every manual vehicle needs to be shifted to second gear almost immediately after taking off. I normally shift around 8-9rpm so you should be fine if it persists worrying you, maybe at your 1000km service ask the mechanic to take a look ^_^
Yeah I am quick about shifting, and usually do it just after 5000rpm. When I am slowing down though I will shift back into first once my speed drops below 10mph, and as I creep towards my stop it seems to grumble. The person who owned it did something to the exhaust to make it sound a bit louder though so it could be just due to that too.
Cropped? haha what do you mean?
